Tom Rubeck Bio

Senior Producer / Director

For Tom Rubeck, it seems as if expanding his horizons has been a key theme to his thirty-two year career.  A native of Irving, Texas, he actually told his first story with a camera in the 5th grade, by producing an 8mm film documentary as a book report for his class.    After gaining a degree from the University of North Texas, Tom actually began working overseas for almost five years in Kenya, East Africa, where he went through just about any kind of scenario you can imagine, from war-reporting to children’s puppet theatre.

Returning to Texas in the early 1990s, he spent 14 years all over the great US capturing stories for “Pat Summerall Productions”.  He also spent time in the studio directing not only Mr. Summerall, but other celebrities such as Robert Wagner, Cheryl Ladd, Troy Aikman, and Rodger Staubach.

Joining the AMS Pictures team in 2004, Tom has been able to see a number of his clients’ visions come to life.  A light-hearted guy by nature, his sharp eye for “a good shot” and his keen sense of timing in the editing room has enabled him to work on literally thousands of videos.   In 2007, he directed and co-produced the documentary “Flying for Freedom” about the famed Tuskegee Airman, which not only won a handful of awards, but went on the become AMS’ highest grossing DVD at the time.  Tom’s been to all fifty states, as well as all seven continents working to tell stories for The Discovery Channel, HGTV, MSNBC, HP Enterprise Services, Frito Lay, TGI Friday’s, DalTile and CNN Headline News.
